How is international humanitarian law (IHL) relevant in the Asia-Pacific? How has the Asia-Pacific region contributed to the development of IHL? Can we identify a regional perspective on the law of armed conflict?

Building on the successful launch of the inaugural edition last year, join us as we continue to explore thematic areas of IHL through voices from the Asia-Pacific in the Philippine launch of the Asia-Pacific Journal of International Humanitarian Law 2nd Edition (2021).

The Asia-Pacific Journal of IHL is a joint publication of the Institute of International Legal Studies-University of the Philippines Law Center (UP-IILS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The Journal has a special focus on the Asia-Pacific region, and collates peer-reviewed scholarly articles, book reviews, and commentary on significant developments in international humanitarian law and related fields.

Our distinguished panellists will share their reflections and insights drawing from their experience working in the field of international humanitarian law in the Asia-Pacific.
