2022 Edition

We are pleased to announce the publication of the Asia-Pacific Journal of International Humanitarian Law's 2022 edition.

The Asia-Pacific Journal of International Humanitarian Law (APJIHL) is a publication of the Institute of International Legal Studies-University of the Philippines Law Center (UP-IILS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The Journal seeks to produce peer-reviewed scholarly articles, book reviews, and commentary on significant developments and current issues in international humanitarian law and related fields. It has a special focus on the Asia-Pacific region, and is published once a year.

The 2022 Edition includes articles on the following:

• An interview with Dr. Helen Durham
• A book review of “Revisiting the Geneva Conventions: 1949-2019”
• The role of the Second Geneva Convention and maritime law norms in the effective implementation of maritime rescue services during naval warfare
• The role of Commissions of Inquiry in strengthening criminal repression of violations of international law
