We are pleased to announce the publication of the Asia-Pacific Journal of International Humanitarian Law's 2023 edition.
The Asia-Pacific Journal of International Humanitarian Law (APJIHL) is a publication of the Institute of International Legal Studies-University of the Philippines Law Center (UP-IILS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The Journal seeks to produce peer-reviewed scholarly articles, book reviews, and commentary on significant developments and current issues in international humanitarian law and related fields. It has a special focus on the Asia-Pacific region, and is published once a year.
The 2023 Edition includes articles on the following:
- An examination of Ongwen's trial in the International Criminal Court
- The role of Islamic law in deterring the use of weapons of mass destruction
- Utilizing Buddhist practices in the application of international humanitarian law
- A review on the status of child soldiers in the Philippines under a new law
- Defining ecocide in the context of armed conflicts
